Happy Mother's Day 2009

My DD make me this card (with help from school teacher).

She called me on the phone (while I traveled) and said that
" Mmy , I make you a beautiful card !!
You must come back early. "

She's so sweet and I missed them so much during my travel.

I'm back from Vacation :)

(* Coaster that I bought from Dunhuang)

I just back from my 18-days long vacation.

The trip was very different from the ordinary one that I joined previously.
We , 22 backpackers, flied to Xinjiang, follow the route of ancient people (of course, our route is not difficult as like the past) to Silk Road China and ended the journey in Xi'an.

I enjoy the experience of stayed in Kazakh Yurt / Mongolian tent (in such breezing cool weather , -3 celcius at night time !!!) , climbed the mountain to have great view of Tianshan & Tianchi, climbed the 1,308 steps of Flaming Mountain, walked to one of the tip of sand dunes, visited to Tibetan Monastery, glacier walk, cycled on the ancient wall of Xian (approx. 13km in 1 hour..huh) and so much more great experience.

I have so many backlogs (after so many days off)
for e.g. e-mail to reply, postcard to send, travel journal to complete, blog to visit, challenge to participate :)
I feel so good to return to artland after so many days re-charge !!!

Thank you to my beloved husband, my blogger friend who visited me and leave me comments, Yongo backpackers, colleagues & friends.

* Silk road ~~ journey along the ancient trade route between China and the western world - from Xi'an to Kashgar (XinJiang).

The little footprint is cut from a fabric ribbon.

Ribbon tie on the left.

Spray the background with dye ink.

Bloom Where You Are Planted

I've won 3 Repsils tins from Ewian (Norway) last month.
So I used 1 tin for this Altered-Tin project.

I used the K&Company Tag Pad to cover the tin.
I love the quote on the tag pad ~ BLOOM Where you are planted.

In the Ewian giveaway, we been asked to contribute our idea what we can do with the empty tin.

I think I'll turn the metal box into altered art piece, will put in my daughters picture in it.
So, here is my idea. (There are numerous of ideas complied by EWian in here)

I cut the about size patterned paper, tie in the ribbon sheet-by-sheet , like accordion.

When all cards pull out.

This is the other side of the cards

The sky is the daily bread of the eyes

How glorious a greeting the sun gives the sky!

One of the things to do in my 101 in 1001 days is to capture the photos of the sky for 1 month.

The sky appeared to be different from day to days.

Look at the trees, look at the birds, look at the clouds, look at the stars... and if you have eyes you will be able to see that the whole existence is joyful.
Everything is simply happy.
Trees are happy for no reason; they are not going to become prime ministers or presidents and they are not going to become rich and they will never have any bank balance. Look at the flowers - for no reason. It is simply unbelievable how happy flowers are. ~Osho
